So I realize I need to explore something more concrete, that is more definitive that the AI can actually discern. So I decided to make a 3-part study, as follows. I included some of my train of thought as well as to why I chose what I did, since I tend to prefer the less tangible. All were generated on July 29, 2023. An elephant I chose this prompt in response to the parable about the six blind men asked to describe an elephant and being unable to comprehend the sum of its parts. It seemed a fitting subject for the AI to explore in similar fashion. A cat Because let's face it, cats rule the Internet. A tree There is a lot of variance in trees. Big versus small, different types, tropical or deciduous or conifer... What constitutes a standard "tree" is very relative to experience and tends to reflect what part of the world you live in. How does something this broad yet specific translate?
Given the concern about AI generated work and copyright infringement, I decided to explore this theme by generating AI art in response to the question "What does copyright infringement look like?" Since I was visiting this concept in Nov. 2023 originally for a publication that never happened, I decided to post them here along with some new explorations. These are from June 2024.
